June 2013 - Craig Raynor and his pal Adam Sisson had a great week with a haul of 32 fish between them!!! The biggest being a 20lb 4oz mirror and the bulk were mid to high teens!! Most came to pop up baits on chod rigs. However, people have started catching on bottom baits now!!
Two other anglers had a really lucky weekend!! One had a 27lb 9oz mirror on the Saturday night and his pal caught the very same fish 16 hours later!!! What are the odds of that happening - also both times it fell to popped up plastic corn with no other bait around!!!
The match lake has now coloured up and is fishing well, with most fish now 10lb plus. Small method and cage feeders working well. But you can still get them off the top on sunnier days.
The stock pond is still a regular winner with most fish falling to sweetcorn, luncheon meat and pellet!! Pole and waggler techniques working well.
April 2013 "Hopefully, we will have seen the last of the cold weather by the end of this week!! Having said that, the brave souls who have been here have managed to catch a few carp on the carp lake. Last weekend Lee Williams managed to get a cracking 21lb 9oz common (click here for pic) and his mate Andy Smythe tempted a 14lb chunky mirror (click here for pic). The conditions were dire, and to tempt these two fish out took some determination!!.
The other two lakes are fishing, and a regular on the Stock pond managed 8 carp to 12lb and a 3lb tench!! fishing dead maggots!! The water levels on all the lakes are still higher than normal, which should leave us in great condition for the Summer
